The Fritz!Box is not just a simple WiFi router. Thanks to various interfaces, you can connect it to many other devices around the computer and telephone. Depending on the model, it acts as an exchange including answering machine and fax machine, as well as a smart-home HQ. Here you will find the right accessories.
Fritz phones with practical additional features
Obviously you can also pair any other DECT telephone with the relevant FRITZ!Boxes. If you are using an Accessoires AVM FRITZ!Box, you can enjoy additional useful features.
For example:
- Fritz!Box/Google phone book: You can use Fritz!Box to manage your contacts on your Android smartphone. And once this phone book has been compiled, it then syncs with your FRITZ!Phone.
- Phone calls with image: Just like with your smartphone, an image of the caller appears when they are phoning you. This works for the C4 and C5 FRITZ!Phone models.
- Internet radio: Fancy hits, news or culture? Various Internet radio stations can be received via the FRITZ!Phone.
- Baby monitor feature: If a certain level of noise is reached when a room is being actively monitored, the telephone automatically calls another telephone, either internally or externally.
- Switch WiFi on and off: Those who like to switch their WiFi on and off more frequently due to radiation and safety reasons will not have to keep going to the FRITZ!Box. This can also be done via the FRITZ!Phone menu.
- Smart home: Anyone using a Fritz DECT 200 or Fritz!Powerline 546E “intelligent” power socket can switch it on or off using their FRITZ!phone.
Repeaters for more wireless coverage
Is the WiFi too weak to provide all rooms with Internet? A repeater (or range extender) is a typical solution for achieving greater range and speed. The device is placed in a power socket that is best located half way between the terminal and the router. It receives the signals sent by the router and transmits them at an amplified level.
In principle, all WiFi routers and repeaters are compatible with each other. If you are using a newer router with interference-free 5 GHZ technology, you must also purchase a suitable repeater. The WiFi standard is important too. If your Fritz!Box works with the modern AC standard, the repeater should also support this technology (such as AVM FRITZ WiFi repeater 1160 & 1750E).
DECT repeater for telephones
DECT repeaters ensure a greater range for cordless phones. The AVM Fritz!DECT models work in perfect harmony with your Fritz!Box. The devices allow for up to three calls at the same time. Thanks to integrated encryption, AVM promises the best level of security.
During a call, the transmission switches depending on the location between the repeater and the router. This should guarantee the best possible reception at any one time. Good to know: In standby mode, the FritzDECT 100 consumes little more than a watt.
Intelligent power socket
The FRITZ!DECT 200 model is a specific DECT device. You can use the intermediate connector to turn lights and electrical devices on and off at specific times. You can use time profiles for this purpose. This way, you can set your coffee machine to come on at six in the morning.
Or you can automatically switch connected devices on or off at sunrise and sunset (astro-function). Or completely at random which, when combined with a light, deters burglars.
The power socket uses this connector to constantly measure the power consumed by docked devices and presents the information graphically in the Fritz!Box interface.
